Last week I shared a list of books for babies and toddlers. To continue this book theme, I have a list of the best books for preschoolers and kindergarteners for you today.
Whether you are homeschooling your kids or they are attending school outside of the home, it is important to make time every day for reading together for fun during these preschool and kindergarten years. Spend time reading a mix of books together — both books with words that are easy enough for your kids to read on their own and more advanced books, so you can stretch their reading skills and build up their vocabulary.
To make your next trip to the library or bookstore easier, I have put together a list of some of my favorite books for preschoolers and kindergarteners. Note: this post contains affiliate links.
1. Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus
2. The Complete Adventures Of Curious George I bought this collection for my little brother for Christmas when I was about 8 years old. This mischievous monkey was his absolute favorite!
4. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
5. When I Was Little: A Four Year Old’s Memoir Of Her Youth
6. If You Give A Mouse A Cookie
8. Olivia
10. The Berenstain Bears Series Not surprising…my favorite one was The Berenstain Bears Go to The Doctor!
12. Winnie The Pooh
13. Clifford The Big Red Dog Series
14. Harold And The Purple Crayon
15. Pablo’s Tree
16. Mouse Paint
17. We’re Going On A Bear Hunt
19. The Madeline Series I read all of Madeline’s books and watched all her movies, too, as a little girl. The adventures of this little Parisian will be a page-turner for sure!
22. Go, Dog, Go
23. Bill Martin’s Big Book of Poetry
24. Last Stop On Market Street
25. Corduroy
26. Bob Books This is a great series for beginning readers to build their skills.
28. The Beatrix Potter Collection
